THIS they lookd at BMW blueprint to make accord, then acura is also looked on at BMW blueprint, they look at it, and say hmmm, how am i going to make this cheaper, and less performance wise, and less gas milage to the power, and say we are better

Well Ive rode one as well as raced numerous as recent as yesterday and yes they do seem to be underpowered. Handling is good and all but cmon seriously, does it have to feel gutless after 150? My k6 shits on them left and right. They have absolutely no power after 150 while my k6 just pulls and pulls untill it bangs into the limiter.

of course because street riding is what matters to me. Im not gonna kid myself into thinking im Rossi and only race at the track 24/7. and btw, the fastest laptime for a stock bike at the losail track here is a 2008 Honda 1000rr.

yea but different tracks for different bikes...honda doesnt hold the lap record at all the tracks. and ducati has won more Superbike titles that honda...so they must be doing something right

with an unfair 200cc advantage, id expect they would win even more in sbk. On a related note, My cousin had his k6 done up by KWS motorsports in the states for around 8k dollars and its bored out 1143cc motor makes 225whp on race gas, 25 more than the desmodici CLAIMS to make at the motor. thats what Japanese bikes can do with more displacement :) Oh btw, he raced a Hennessey GT1000 and beat it to 350kph.

ok if the 200cc's is unfair advantage then the fact that the inline 4 revs 4k higher is unfair too...they make up for each other. right...and ur cousin would die if he tried to take it on a road course...which is y he prbably drag races it. tit for tat...hp isnt every thing...specially in super sport bikes. i lap 1000cc bike all the time at the track on my 600...cause i ride better :P

Except that ducati already make a V4 but they refuse to race it in sbk because they know they'll get embarrassed in a level playing field because they are cheaters. And my cousin is a rider in the Qatar Superbike series. Our riders come within 2 seconds of the sbk laptimes at losail. Id love to see you take him on.

I believe you will be shown to be wrong. I believe that many Japanese SBK manufacturers are extremely nervous about this move by BMW. They plan to use their F1 knowhow to win motorcycle races. (Japanese teams have proven very unsuccessful in F1 btw.)

This thing is going to scream. BM pinched a dozen engineers from the F1 team to build the engine in this thing. The same as what Ducati did using Ferrari engineers. It might not handle as good as the Jap bikes in the first season, but it will be on par or even better with the power. Time will tell.

I'm interested to see how this bike will fair against the Japanese. I just hope they keep their promise to keep the bikes priced close to $12,000.
