Well the bible says that life and death is in the power of the tongue; so that says essentially that words have power. So, to put it simply, negative words of any kind, whether considered profane or not, shouldn't be used, there's just no reason to.
It's called cursing for a reason. Essentially, using negative terms of any kind pretty much just creates negative results, or a curse. To me, saying you're an idiot is just as bad as saying f*** you. It's unnecessary and dangerous.

I actually have to agree with several parts of what you said. I do not swear often, and I know for a fact that when I do swear, people do notice it more.
I also think that people should be aware of swearing in various situations as well. Swearing in my own apartment with no one but adults there is different then swearing in a public area with children present. It has to do with respecting other people.

I use profanity very often. In the part of country I'm from you can say "hello, fucker" to the police and they don't care, but if you say so to the police for example in the capital city, you might go in jail. It isn't often it happen, but it can happen if you are unlucky.
Anyways... I swear a lot, but not in front of my parents xD
And profanity is a part of the language, so I think it's okay!

And, honestly, how does using profanity benefit a sentence in any way? "What the f*ck are you talking about" is no more effect than, "What are you talking about?". Profanity is solely to be, "cool", whatever that is, and is just crude and pointless.

Sorry pal, but the Earth being created by Yahweh in 6 days, a woman was made from a rib, talking snakes, parting seas, stoning people to death, etc. are things I do not hold to be truth. The Bible (as well as other religious texts) holds some very good principles, but in no way is it divinely-inspired or written by god.
I could give a FUCK less if profanity was cool or not. I enjoy using these words you deem 'profane' in my everyday language, not to be 'cool' but because I feel like.

And the thing is *why* do you enjoy using profanity? It doesn't add to the sentence, there's nothing about that particular range of frequencies that is physically soothing. You enjoy using it because that's the trend now.

heres my take on it... although you wish to "keep up the potency" of curse words... that can lead to some awkward situations....
the person you are really trying to say "fuck you" to, is probably someone you know, this person knows that you barely use profanity, so when they use it they either are happy that they "got your goat" or become baffled at the situation and an awkward pause ensues.
