i think ur right but one of the reasons this is happening it because the let to many japanese auto makers into this country and i think they need to have a limit one how much you can builed like 50,000 of the camry.

Yeah I agree and if we are to bail them out "WE" should make the rules,,also all of the cars should get at least 35 miles to the gallon ,,it sounds like a lot,,"BUT" I say but because they can do it if they want to or if we make them! The UAW has to stop giving them raises and we need to fire all of the top executives!!

exactly but that bill that says they all must get 37mpg or better is a bunch of bs u cant accomplish that with ethanol in the gas becuase it has a faster burn time than gasoline and after a while of sitting it evaporates and wen it evaporates it creats water and it rots rubber seals and gaskets and besides a z06 gets 40 mpg

I am glad that GM is going bankruptcy! That is punishment for company for making such low mpg and rubbish cars like hummer. It is just ugly box with four wheels on it.

GM deserves to go bankrupt. They had a plan in Ste-Therese, Canada, who uses the make Camaro/Firebird. On the average of the last 10 production years, the cars coming out that plan had the highest quality rating of any GM assembly line when they decided to close down the plan! With that kind of management its no surprise they are in trouble now.
Every automaker they make a partnership with in the last 25 years, they transform it into fiasco (SAAB, Suzuki, Isuzu, and Daewoo to name a few).

There are exceptions in American car industry. Cobalt SS is good, Chevrolet Corvette is a powersliding monster, pity it's made out of tracing paper. But Ford GT is the king. It's a true high tech supercar comparable to Lambo.

We can make good cars in this country,just need to cut out the cheap plastics and older technology GM and Ford have been pushing on us.
As much beef as the USA produces and consumes would think we could have leather inside every car we make for reasonable cost.
But instead every American car ends up with crap plastic covering everything,they even paint the plastic to try to make it look alloy. Corvette is guilty of that even.

Yes, when I drove Corvette Z06, the materials used made me a bit sick, even the bodywork is made of crapy plastics and it's made (not joking) by a company that primarily makes waste bins. But then, Corvette is car people don't keep for longer than the waste bin.
However, Ford is very close to perfect, try Ford GT, it feels so much more solid, everything is nicely made. It's epic.

Botmline I realy wish any of these American CarComps could bring back some of the pride that was once here.Go to a clasic car show look at the chrome,the original motors,the dashboards or any of the stuff& how much real labor went into making those things then look at the crap they are puttin out{though the motor&trans seem to last 4ever now,but they are not made here any more,right?}It is a joke&the workrs r gettn 75 buks n hr for puttn them togethr,They should go bankrupt&get somthin good goin
