Neither are ... ( 2 weeks ago by nomedeeps)
Neither are monsters or nightmares. They are both great high performance open road blasters. If you think that way then you lack the skills and experience required to ride them safely. They are placid and tractable at normal speeds but are capable of arm stretching performance. Their handling is very good for their size and weight but of course motorcycles with their power need to be treated with respect. Not monsters or nightmarish just awesome motorcycles. Too much for you it looks like.

No, it's not the fastest. Stock Japanese motorcycles are limited to 299 kph (186mph). There are at least 6 stock Japanese bikes capable of 299kph. It is not the quickest. There are 5 stock models beat it over the 1/4 mile. It's forte is role-on acceleration over 60 mph because of it's great bottom and mid range torque. The aerodynamics are also better than most other bikes so this helps with acceleration 100 - 180 mph. The MV Augusta 312, as the name suggests, can reach 312 kph (191 mph).
With an expert ... ( 2 weeks ago by nomedeeps)
With an expert rider, an R1 would have a higher corner speed and be more nimble for direction changes. An average rider on an R1 would be dominated by an expert rider on a Hayabusa. 99% of riders can't ride either bikes to their potential. The bikes wouldn't be the limiting factors. A good rider on an Aprilia RS250 would flog most R1 in the twisties. Not on a straight road of course but any average rider can ride a bike fast in a straight line. Around a track, a Busa is only 1% slower.

With such high RPM's I bet that turbo stays spooled all the time. What psi boost (or bar) does it hit?

But your tamburini or 312 ...is unlimited top of the topest at 312km/h...bust top of the topest doing 338km/h...
The F4 Tamburini ... ( 1 day ago by nomedeeps)
The F4 Tamburini evo, produced in limited numbers from 2005, is quoted by MV as achieving 323 kph. In August 2007, the 312R set the new Land Speed Record at Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah for the fastest Production Motorcycle in the world, averaging 311.53 km/h, over the long course, which is 7 miles (11.3 km) long. The top speed was over 314 km/h. The Hayabusa was quoted by Suzuki in 1999 as the first 200 mph (325 kph) production motorcycle. A modded busa 338? Stock Jap bikes limited to 299.
All Japanese ... ( 1 day ago by nomedeeps)
All Japanese motorcycles are limited to 299 kph (186 mph) from new. There are ways around the speed limiter that will see the Hayabusa, ZX14 and a number of other 1 litre Japanese bikes exceed 305 kph. The latest model Hyabusa and ZX14 have been clocked at 315+ kph with the speed limiter disabled. If you are saying that the Hayabusa is the fastest stock bike then you are wrong because of the factory speed limiter. The MV Agusta is the worlds fastest STOCK and street registerable motorcycle.
For open road ... ( 1 day ago by nomedeeps)
For open road blasting, yes. It is too heavy and not nimble enough for track work or mountain roads. A good rider on a 600 sports bike such as the R6 and 600 Fireblade would see it off on a winding road. The 1,000 cc bikes would have an even bigger margin. The MV Augusta Tambourini and other recent MV 1,000 cc performance bikes are widely acclaimed, along with the Ducati 1098, as the best and fastest bikes in the world. The Busa is the king on bang for buck. Some people think it's ugly.

MMM, hit a raw nerve have I? Such an intelligent and well reasoned response...not. How old are? Let me guess, 20, no, 16, no 13.
Anything longer than 2 weeks is a long time eh? You would probably forget what you wrote one hour ago let alone one month. Perhaps you are used to making ill considered and chidish remarks on forums. A typical no brain response. Perhaps you need to complete grade school.
IMO stock means a ... ( 1 day ago by nomedeeps)
IMO stock means a showroom bike as delivered and this is the criteria for racing most stock classes. If we use your definition of stock then I can change the exhaust to a full titanium system, higher compression, modified cylinder head, titanium rods, racing pistons, power commander, undercut gears, heavier clutch springs, modded brakes. Is this stock? I think not. You exclude turbos only and it's abitrary. A Busa with all those mods could have as much as 220 hp. No limiter = modified.

The only things ... ( 1 day ago by nomedeeps)
The only things that the manufacturer approves fitted to the motorcycle as non-stock items are tyres, oil, brake fluid, coolant and brake pads. Fuel type is also defined and often excludes low octane and racing fuel, methanol or ethanol blends and additives. If you ran a Busa on Avgas it wouldn't be stock nor would a a different exhaust or Power Commander. So "stock" is a clearly defined concept. In many countries, modifiying stock motorcycles is illegal, especially mods which effect EPA rules.
The main point ... ( 20 hours ago by nomedeeps)
The main point about appearance is that the only person who can see your motorcycle fully is a bystander. From the riders perspective the appearance doesn't matter much unless you are into looking at yourself riding past shop windows or you are a poser. I'd rather have an ugly, brilliant performing motorcycle. Good if you get both beauty and performance. The Busa is designed for aerodynamic performance foremost and that's what gives it the top speed edge. Ugly? Perhaps, but it's unique.
NO...wrong..that ... ( 13 hours ago by theriontom)
NO...wrong..that about what you talking is tuning....about what i'm talking is real power from stock factory engine...you can't limit haybusa engine at 300km/h....is just ~160hp...stock power of this engine is 175hp...320km/h....aprox. Nothing touch on engine just take off the fuckin limiter...MV R312 is unlimited...taked off limiter...understand??
Yes, I agree all of ... ( 10 hours ago by theriontom)
Yes, I agree all of that with you. 175hp is in engine, but 156 on wheel(99-01)...194 in engine and 171 at wheel(2007)...The top speed of '99 is 306km/h(LIMITED)...I agree with all of that.
